interzum award:
intelligent material & design 2007

For the fourth time, Koelnmesse, in cooperation with red dot, announced the interzum award: intelligent material & design. This design competition was specially developed for the supplier industry and is already well established amongst the exhibitors at "interzum". interzum is one of the most important international trade fairs of the supplier industry and owns branches in Guangzhou and Moscow. All exhibitors at the fair were invited to submit their innovations to the competition.

The search was on for impressive developments featuring good design, unusual materials and mature functions. A top-class panel of experts judged the exhibits: Japanese designer and architect Masayo Ave, designer Ulrich Skrypalle from the agency designafairs, designer Martin Bergmann from EOOS Design in Austria and Danny Venlet from Venlet Interior Architecture in Brussels, together with Professor Dr. Peter Zec, member of the executive committee of the internationally renowned Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen, made up the team of jurors for this year’s interzum award.

The Online Exhibition presents the award-winning product, the innovations of which are often in the detail: in intelligent functions, innovative materials and new lighting systems. In order to reveal and promote this innovative strength of the industry, red dot, together with Koelnmesse, developed the “interzum award: intelligent material & design” in 2001.
