The hard, closed surfaces of modern materials reflect sound, thus contributing to an unpleasant increase in overall noise levels. When using Acoustic-Lightboards, the sound penetrates through a micro-perforated surface into the honeycomb structure behind it, where it is absorbed by an open-pore structure. Due to the surface’s sensitively designed visual look the material itself becomes an architectural element.
